Vesterbro

Copenhagen’s former working-class district is undergoing gentrification and turning into a hip neighbourhood and the place to go for those seeking fun, original fashions.

There are plenty of personal boutiques and specialty shops on two parallel streets: Vesterbrogade and the far end of Istedgade.

A number of up-and-coming clothing designers have settled into this area, so if you’re looking for unique clothing or vintage items, this is the place to find it.

For the latest in Danish-designed furniture, glass and jewellery, you might want to pop into Designer Zoo, on Vesterbrogade 137, where eight in-house designers work on their crafts.

The area also has funky restaurants, cafes, bakeries and wine shops, if you’re in need of refreshments.
